Personally I like the link to the Jobs page, albeit that is not a function of DSATS. We have updated the events to be only those with DSATS involvement. I like the idea of a History of DSATS page. We see what we can come up with.

I think that's the very point the Petrowiki description is making. Drilling "Systems" Automation by its very title crosses the silos.

I saw something similar at https://www.waylay.io/articles/oil-gas-operations-with-predictive-automation. It seemed to be grasping at straws to me. I'm a big fan of Data Driven approaches as you know. But this kind of article does the field a disservice IMHO.

I get the sense that ChatGPT answers often resemble the kind of meaningless non committal goop served up by politicians.

I remember when you presented the last slide (love it). I think we all know that the term is being used as marketing bluster. While I agree that a fully autonomous system may never become a reality, there are subsystems within drilling that could benefit from a drive towards autonomy, particularly those that don't involve machines. That being said we are on a journey with automation and believe it would be foolhardy, not just challenging, to try and move from manual processes to higher levels of automation without thinking through the required capabilities in between. This is especially true of the humans role in the system. This it what concerns me most about the loose use of the term "Autonomous". Most of the value lies in between the silos as well. Why do we persist on chasing ROP when if it isn't aligned to casing delivery its all for naught.

Regardless of the source of the analysis. The question edgar asked is what do we think ?

It will be interesting to see the dynamic of value vs investment given the industry's current capital constraints. As I understand it, these solutions will be retrofits which may now make it viable.Maybe @tony.pink and @pradeep.annaiyappa could comment on this?

Ties well to the article we posted earlier on Human factors and the ironies of automation. Cognitive tunnelling is a real issue.

@tony.pink would be good to hear your thoughts on this. As I understand it , it's not about competing with traditional bits, but being able to drill what traditional bits cannot. Would be good to hear from someone in this space.
